The «Gostiny Dvor» of Moscow

is one of the most outstanding monuments of history and architecture of the XVIII Century reborn on the edge of the last century. The building was constructed by a Decree of Catherine the Great pursuant to the design developed by Giacomo Cvarnegi and was one of the best decorations of the capital.

In 1995, the Moscow Government resolved to begin reconstruction of the Old Gostiny Dvor. The architects and the builders had to resolve the uneasy problem: to preserve the externals of this historical monument and to make it comfortable and modern inside. Thus it was resolved to erect a unique dome transparent to light, that covers the broad expanse of the courtyard – the Atrium, which is similar to the Venice Saint-Marco Square in size and contour.

Why the Atrium is so attractive for organizers of various events? First of all, because of the unlimited possibilities of this premise. It is possible to realize any creative conception there, any exhibitions, concerts, presentations, discotheques, jubilees, and shows of any dimensions.

Indeed: the covered square of about 13 ths square meters in size, the amphitheater, the 3 decked galleries, the universal system of air conditioning, possibility to connect any electrical installations and other facilities at any point of the Atrium.

S ince 2000, as the reconstruction of the building was finished, the premises of Atrium are managed by the Business House «Shater» – the company which has assisted in organization of many events.
